A Research Platform for Singapore

QUASAR

Quantum Security and Resilience for Emerging Technologies

QUASAR aims to deliver efficient building blocks, novel approaches, and demonstrations for engineering quantum-safe systems and solutions (PQC+QKD) while simultaneously enriching Singapore's talent pool by training the next generation of security experts. The collaboration between Fraunhofer, TUM, NTU and NUS will foster knowledge exchange, technological advancements, and long-term partnerships in the field of quantum security, benefiting the society and industry in Singapore and Germany.

Objectives

TUMCREATE will focus on the design of an open and verifiable secure platform based on RISC-V architecture enriched with accelerators for Post Quantum Cryptography. We will develop tools for design space exploration to optimise the integration of such accelerators, develop a secure operating system for the platform and use open-source design tools for developing a chip. This chip is aimed to be used in demonstrators, e.g. a FIDO token for password-less authentication. Open-source hardware and tools increase Singapore’s technological sovereignty and increase the chip design capabilities of local universities.
