The Senior Manager for Corporate Communication will lead all facets of corporate communications for TUMCREATE and its multidisciplinary research initiatives. This strategic role is pivotal in shaping the organisation’s public image and fostering meaningful engagement with stakeholders across academia, industry, and government. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

You are a seasoned communications professional with a passion for science and innovation. You possess excellent writing and editorial skills, and the ability to engage diverse audiences with compelling narratives and experiences. You are able to contribute to an intercultural team environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communication & Campaigns

  • Develop and execute original, creative, and impactful science communication campaigns and publications that captivate existing stakeholders and elevate the company’s visibility within academic circles, industry sectors, and government agencies.

Content Creation & Editorial Oversight

  • Produce high-quality short- and long- form content, including press releases, speeches, and social media articles tailored to both scientific audiences and the general public. These will be published across various platforms such as the company website, social media, media outlets, and internal or public communication channels.
  • Serve as editor for scientific posters, essays, and visual materials created by research teams and partners, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with communication goals.

Operational Communication Duties

  • Maintain and update the company’s media platforms, monitor daily media coverage, and advise on media engagement opportunities.
  • Correspondence with external stakeholders and related operational tasks.
  • Updating and maintaining internal contact database.
  • Facilitate a productive and cordial working relationships with partner organisations and stakeholders.

Event Leadership & Management (corporate)

  • Personally direct and oversee the planning and execution of events, including hosting local and international delegates, business gatherings, and internal functions. Collaborate with internal partners (e.g., TUM, TUM Asia) and external stakeholders from academia, industry, and government agencies.
  • Manage all aspects of event logistics such as publicity materials, vendor coordination, budgeting, and supervision to ensure high standards of execution. Act as the primary liaison for externally organized or supported events where required.

 

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Media, Journalism, Public Relations and related fields from a reputable university is preferred. Applicants with degrees in Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences with outstanding writing experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 5 - 6 years of relevant working experience at a managerial level, preferably with a tertiary institution, education- or research- based organisation. Applicants with natural science- or engineering- related experience are preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office and design applications such as Adobe and Canva.
  • Possess a diverse portfolio of creative designs and compositions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to navigate a diverse multicultural work environment.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently.
