The LightSPAN project is funded by the National Research Foundation of Singapore and aims to investigate how we can optimize light exposure to support health and well-being across the lifespan, with a specific focus on optimizing light exposure in seniors.

About the LightSPAN Research Group

The collaborative project is led by Prof. Dr. Manuel Spitschan (TUMCREATE/TUM) and Asst. Prof. Raymond Najjar (NUS). The focus of the work performed as part of this position is a clinical trial investigating the use of cutting-edge behavioural digital-health interventions to promote healthy light exposure in ageing.

At TUMCREATE, you will work in the Integrative Digital Health and Medicine Group. The Group is part of the Translational Sensory and Circadian Neuroscience Unit linking the Technical University of Munich, the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics and TUMCREATE. Job Purpose/Objective of the Position:

As a Communications Officer with TUMCREATE, you will play a critical role in our research projects by developing and executing communication campaigns. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the recruitment of participants (children and senior citizens). Through your strategic communication efforts, you will help us achieve our research objectives and contribute to the success of our projects. You will be joining a dynamic research team. This is a fixed term 12 months contract.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and develop effective communication campaigns to attract and engage potential participants
  • Implement communication strategies across various channels, including digital, social media, email, and traditional media, to reach target audiences
  • Create engaging and informative content that will engage Singapore’s multicultural society, such as advertisements, newsletters, and promotional materials, to support recruitment efforts
  • Monitor and analyse the effectiveness of communication campaigns, making adjustments as needed to improve recruitment outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the LightSPAN Project team from TUMCREATE and NUS to align communication strategies with project goals

 

Job Requirements/Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, e.g., communications, marketing, public relations, psychology, health sciences, or similar from a reputable university
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience (at least 36 months) in developing and executing communication campaigns, preferably in a research or academic setting
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms
  • Proficiency in website maintenance
  • Proficiency in design tools (Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Excellent communication abilities in English and Chinese dialects (Mandarin, Hokkien)
  • Motivated, creative, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team
