Towards Zero-waste Valorization of Fruit Pomace and Peel to Bioactives via Green Extraction and Bioconversion.

About the Programme

The goal of the project is to upcycle tropical fruit waste into high-value bioactives and microalgae oil that could potentially support cardiovascular health, cognitive function and inflammatory response while contributing sustainable economy. The project is hosted by the A*STAR Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation. TUMCREATE leads Work Package 6 of the project, focusing on sustainability assessment of in-house developed technologies, identification of key process hotspots, and development of mitigation scenarios.
