TUMCREATE is a multidisciplinary research platform of the Technical University Munich (TUM) at the Singapore Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise (CREATE). We are joining forces with universities, public agencies, and industry for the advancement of future technologies.
A new project “Singapore’s Pathway to Carbon Neutrality: Analysis of New Technologies” has been launched. The aim of this project is to analyse options for alternative energy supply for Singapore such as import of electricity from neighbouring countries or long-distance high-voltage direct-current connections, or alternative fuels such as hydrogen or synthetic fuels.

Objective of the position:
We are looking for a Research Fellow to adapt existing energy system models to this project. This is a full-time 6-month contract.
Identify requirements of energy supply and demand models to successfully complete the project
Adapt the models urbs, pyGRETA, and ENDEMO to the project
Guide researchers at TUMCREATE to using these models in the project
Support development of a first model of Singapore’s energy demand
PhD in Power or Electrical Engineering or a related field with at least 1 year of experience
Proven track record in energy and power system modelling
Knowledge of energy and power systems, energy markets, energy conversion technology
