About TUMCREATE

TUMCREATE is a multidisciplinary research platform of the Technical University Munich (TUM) at the Singapore Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise (CREATE). We are joining forces with universities, public agencies, and industry for the advancement of future technologies.

A new project “Singapore’s Pathway to Carbon Neutrality: Analysis of new Technologies” between TUMCREATE and NTU has been established. The aim of the project is to identify the best options for Singapore’s energy supply in order to reach carbon neutrality and to analyse how Singapore can maintain its position as a global fuel hub. Several models will be developed to identify different possible pathways.

These models include various dynamic simulation models including carbon capture, transport and storage options to be developed by the candidate.

Please visit www.tum-create.edu.sg for more information about TUMCREATE.

Objective of the position:

We are looking for a Research Fellow for the development of dynamic simulation models for carbon capture, transport and storage options.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and understand processes of CO2 capture, transport, storage and handling.
  • Develop detailed models for the aforementioned processes.
  • Connect these models to models dealing with hydrogen production, storage and transport.
  • Integrate these models into models for energy supply.
  • Provide technical supervision to Research Associates working on other dynamic simulation models

Job Requirements:

  • PhD degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with at least 1 year of experience
  • Knowledge of chemical processes, state-of-the-art process simulation tools (Aspen Plus, Hysis, UniSim Design, CHEMCAD etc.) and dynamic process simulations
  • Programming knowledge (preferably Python and MATLAB)
  • Ability to interact with other researchers and define a working structure
  • Good English writing and communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills for working in an international research team with people of different backgrounds

What TUM CREATE offers you:
