TUMCREATE is a research platform for the improvement of Singapore's public transportation, including the deployment of electric and autonomous mobility. Researchers from Technical University Munich and Nanyang Technological University join forces and are funded by Singapore’s National Research Foundation as part of the Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise (CREATE).

In TUMCREATE, over 100 scientists, researchers and engineers work together, led by Professors from the Technical University of Munich and Nanyang Technological University. The Mission of TUMCREATE is to seek the ultimate public transport system for the people of Singapore. About this Position

A research project has been established to different modalities of IoT (Internet of Things)/CPS (Cyber-Physical Systems) devices. Devices with physical sensing are often of different nature in each device where they sense the environment as different parameters and communicate the data with neighbouring devices. There is no availability of ground truth of such measurements to assess their validity and authenticity. The communicated data can be used to achieve consensus on the data validation using distributed consensus mechanisms. The goal of this position is to develop reliable data communication of IoT devices in a distributed network. The main tasks are:

  • Design and implement algorithm for interference reduction and message recovery.
  • Develop communication framework in a distributed network of devices.
  • Implement the novel consensus algorithm in the network of devices to achieve consensus.
  • Conduct experiments for comparison with other consensus algorithms.



  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering.
  • Minimum 1 year experience/Fresh graduate welcome to apply.
  • Good knowledge of Algorithms and Embedded programming.
  • Knowledge on radio communication preferable.
  • Very good C and python programming skills.
  • Reliable, independent and scientific work style.
