About This Position
The purpose of the Media and Communications Executive role is to ensure that communications from TUM CREATE is up to date, targeted and credible. This position will develop and implement strategies to raise TUM CREATE’s media profile in the relevant strategic areas of research. The Media and Communications Executive will work with the Management and Researchers at TUM CREATE.
Objectives & Tasks
Develop, implement and evaluate TUM CREATE’s media strategy in consultation with the TUM CREATE management.
Monitor daily media and advice on reactive media opportunities.
Write and lead the production of communication materials including TUM CREATE’s news section on the web pages, media releases and communications brochures and promotional material in consultation with TUM CREATE management and Principal Researchers.
Monitor implementation of a TUM CREATE style guide which maintains corporate image and presentation style for all external and (where appropriate) internal communications materials.
Contribute to the organisation, development and delivery of communication strategies for TUM CREATE events and forums.
Develop, implement and evaluate TUM CREATE’s social media strategy in consultation with the TUM CREATE management.
Provide monthly reports to TUM CREATE management.
Organisational Relationships & Accountability
The Media and Communications Manager reports to the CEO. The CEO may delegate the reporting as necessary. Key internal contacts include all TUM CREATE staff and TUM CREATE stakeholders as directed by the CEO.
Diploma or Tertiary qualification in Public Relations, Journalism or a related field.
Extensive experience in copywriting and proofreading within a Public Relations, Journalism or Communications role.
Previous experience in media relations and a track record in securing Singapore media coverage.
Experience in online communications including: developing and implementing online strategies and maintaining websites and social media communications.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and flexibly, as well as cooperatively as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to organise work, manage time, determine priorities and meet deadlines.
Able and willing to work flexible hours and off-site at publicity events.
Experience in planning and managing campaign activities.
Previous project management experience in a Singapore education or government sector.
