About This Position
TUMCREATE is developing a new road based transportation concept for Singapore – The Dynamic Autonomous Road Transit system (DART). The DART system is closely integrated with the MRT and the bus system and is based on autonomous vehicles. The goal of the research project is to ensure public transport service quality and to improve the travel experience for everyone.
The DAM team (Design for Autonomous Mobility) is therefore looking for a highly motivated student who will investigate existing and future station and stop designs. Goal of this thesis is to develop together with the team innovative concepts and ideas how bus stations and stops might work in the future.
Objectives & Tasks
Literature research on the state of the art for stops and stations of road based transportation systems
Comparison between transport systems with dedicated bus stops and systems with no defined stops from the users perspective
Developing visionary solutions not only for the design of stops and stations but for the entire service behind public transportation
Organised, independent and reliable working attitude
