Phi Tran holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Automotive and Combustion Engine Technology at TUM. His previous work experience includes an internship at Bosch Automotive Steering and work as a student assistant at BMW Group in the department of electrical drives. Furthermore, he was able to gain work experience abroad during his internship at Mercedes-Benz in Japan with the focus on high voltage battery. His area of expertise includes automotive engineering development, packaging and battery technology. In addition to his academic background, he is co-founder and CFO of Students4Refugees Munich. A German language school for refugees with an academic background to ease their way into the German university.
Phi Tran writes his Master’s thesis on the topic of vehicle concept and package development. The goal of his Master’s thesis is a tool which mainly includes the components sizing and selection for component modules such as chassis, powertrain, drivetrain and cooling. The interest of the tool is the optimisation of vehicle concepts based on vehicle packaging.
